Who we are
CHPTR 2 is a creative and social agency. This portal is private software we operate for our own clients. It is not a public product and it is not sold or offered to anyone else. It is used by CHPTR 2 staff and by people at the brands we work for.
What we access from Instagram
When a client connects their Instagram professional account, we read, on their behalf:
- Their account profile: username, follower count, media count.
- Their own posts: caption, media, permalink, timestamp, likes and comment counts.
- Their own post insights: reach, views, saves, shares.
- Comments on their own posts, and posts where their account is tagged.
- Their stories, while those are live, and the views and reach on them.
- Account-level daily figures: accounts reached, profile visits, link taps, and how many people followed or unfollowed.
- Aggregate audience make-up for their followers: age bands, gender split, country, and the hours their audience is typically online. These are totals Instagram reports about the audience as a whole. They identify nobody, and we cannot see them for an individual.
We do not access direct messages, and we never post, comment, reply, or take any action on a client's behalf. Our access is read-only.
Facebook and TikTok
Where a client also connects a Facebook Page or a TikTok account, we read the equivalent information for those: the profile and its follower count, the client's own posts and the performance figures on them. The access is read-only on those platforms too, and we never post or message on a client's behalf. Some historical figures were imported from reporting tools a client used before working with us, at that client's direction and from their own export.
What we do with it
We analyse a client's own content to tell them what is working: which formats, subjects and posting times perform best for them, and what their audience talks about. Post images and comment text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for that analysis. That data is processed to produce the analysis and is not used to train models.
Comments and the people who write them
Comments are analysed in aggregate: whether a comment is substantive, its sentiment, whether it looks automated, and what topic it concerns. We use this to tell a brand how their audience is responding and which questions need answering. We do not build profiles of individual commenters, do not track people across accounts, and do not sell or share this data.
Competitor data
We record publicly available information about other brands, such as follower counts and public post metrics, through Instagram's Business Discovery, which returns only what any member of the public can see on those profiles. We do not access private data belonging to accounts that have not connected to us.
How long we keep it
Analytics are retained for as long as the brand is a client, so that year-over-year comparison is possible. A client can ask us to delete their data at any time and we will do so.
Deleting your data
Disconnecting our app from your Instagram immediately revokes our access. To have the data removed as well, use the deletion option in Instagram's app settings. We act on that automatically and provide a confirmation page. Or email us and we'll do it directly.
Sharing
We do not sell data. It is shared only with the infrastructure providers required to run the service: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), Anthropic (content analysis), and Resend (email). We share nothing with advertisers or data brokers.
